Call for Papers: Novel Technological Advances for Neurological Disorders

JMIR Neurotechnology invites researchers, clinicians, and technologists to submit review articles including, but not limited to, systematic literature reviews and scoping literature reviews that explore novel technological advances for neurological disorders.

JMIR Neurotechnology aims to bridge the gap between clinical neuroscience, neuropsychology, and information technology by providing a platform for applied human research in the field of neurology. Dedicated to serving patients and caregivers affected by neurological disorders, JMIR Neurotechnology supports research that is deeply translational and facilitates the link between technological insights and patient treatment.

The scope of JMIR Neurotechnology includes but is not limited to:

  • Neuroradiology
  • Neurofeedback
  • Advancements in neurosurgery
  • Innovative diagnostic tools and techniques
  • Cutting-edge neurotechnology for therapeutics
  • Data sharing and open science in neurotechnology
  • Code transparency and reproducibility
  • Neurorehabilitation
  • Cognitive enhancement
  • Challenges and ethical considerations
  • Neuroimaging and brain-machine interfaces
  • Artificial intelligence (AI) in neurotechnology

Systemic and scoping reviews must be conducted according to PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) and adhere to reporting guidelines in accordance with JMIR Publications policy.

JMIR Neurotechnology aims to explore applied human research in any clinical neurological domain, acting as a repository of recent insights from both clinical neuroscience and information technology [1]

At JMIR Neurotechnology, we are committed to ensuring that all submissions undergo rigorous peer review and editorial evaluation. Our goal is to provide a fast, fair, and constructive review process that helps authors improve the quality of their work and ensures that only the highest-quality research is published.

Submit your manuscripts to JMIR Neurotechnology and contribute to advancing the frontier of neurotechnology in the diagnosis and treatment of neurological disorders.

How to Submit

To submit an article to JMIR Neurotechnology, please visit the submission page. Consult our Instructions for Authors for more information on how to submit a manuscript.

For a limited time only, JMIR Neurotechnology is offering a 50% article processing fee discount on all manuscripts accepted for publication with the use of a valid promo code. For more information, please visit: https://neuro.jmir.org/about-journal/article-processing-fees.

All articles will be shared and published rapidly through the following mechanisms:

  • All peer-reviewed articles will be immediately and permanently made open access. This is the standard for all titles within the JMIR Publications portfolio.
  • Articles can be made immediately available in JMIR Preprints (with a DOI) after submission if authors select the preprint option at submission to enable this service.

Submissions not reviewed or accepted for publication in JMIR Neurotechnology may be offered cascading peer review or transfer to other JMIR Publications journals, according to standard JMIR Publications policies. Authors are encouraged to submit study protocols or grant proposals to JMIR Research Protocols before data acquisition to preregister the study (Registered Reports; subsequent acceptance in one of the JMIR Publications journals is then guaranteed).
