Section Policies
Editorial
Tutorial
A "how-to" paper on an important practical or research issue. We recommend contacting the editor to discuss suitability of a topic before submitting it. Submission of slides or audio/video files as supplementary files is strongly recommended.
Reviews in Neurotechnology
Commentary
A commentary is published alongside other articles published in JMIR Publications journals. Commentaries are typically invited. Unsolicited commentaries may be considered at the discretion of the editor. They may or may not be peer-reviewed. Articles submitted as a commentary should offer thoughtful criticism of published work, drawing from evidence, expertise, and/or additional perspectives.
Data Science in Neurotechnology
The application of data science methodologies such as statistical analysis, machine learning, data mining, and visualization techniques to extract meaningful insights from neurotechnological data.
Research published in this section should be in accordance with FAIR Principles, https://www.go-fair.org/fair-principles/
Computational Techniques in Neurotechnology
Use of computational methods such as modeling, simulation, algorithm development, and mathematical analysis in advancing neurotechnological research.
Articles published under this category will need to share code in a detailed and well-documented style, for example as outlined by Jupyter Notebook, https://jupyter.org/
Viewpoints in Neurotechnology
This article type will allow us to publish more free-form materials – perspectives, educational articles and other narratives written by clinicians, caregivers, patients, and engineers – provided they clearly share experiences and expertise in understandable to facilitate understanding across domains.
